Lewis Payne

Lewis graduated in 2013 with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy from The University of Nottingham, after which he worked as first team Physiotherapist for Sheffield F.C., before finally settling into private practice.

He has helped grow Sheffield Physiotherapy over the last 10 years into one of the most technologically advanced Physiotherapy clinics in the country, using state of the art equipment alongside an innovative model of Physiotherapy which retains a very hands-on approach.

He has over a decade of experience working as a Physiotherapist, he has trained to a high level in manual therapy, the use of advanced technological treatments for challenging conditions, and exercise based approaches to treatment.

Each week he manages a full case load of patients, including spinal conditions, joint conditions and sports injuries.

Lewis is perhaps most renowned for his work in treating complex and challenging spinal conditions, including disc pathology and joint problems. He also has specialist training in the treatment of scoliosis.
He is the lead practitioner for IDD Therapy, and has performed over 6000+ treatments throughout the last decade.

He offers MRI Referral and Review of MRI imaging as part of his expertise. Correlating MRI findings with symptoms, offers insights into challenging spinal conditions, provides clarity of diagnosis and helps guide the most effective treatment.

A fundamental blueprint that underpins Lewis’s treatment methodology is that he see’s the body as a Tensegrity structure, a concept whereby the bones float within a tensional matrix of soft tissues. Viewing the body in this way leads to profound insights into the true “cause” of a condition.

Lewis is adept in postural analysis, body reading, and a plethora of soft tissue release techniques, which help reduce unnecessary strain on the joints, meaning we hold ourselves with strength, move with grace, and tend to have less pain.
He is trained to a high level in prescribing specific “biomechanical corrective exercises” to improve the execution of fundamentally human movements. When humans move well in relation to what they’re designed to do, the benefits transfer to literally every other movement we perform.

Lewis is passionate about nature and being outdoors. He enjoys bushcraft, mountain biking, canoeing and campervanning. He gyms regularly which is a constant source of inspiration and innovation to his practice. He supports Sheffield United, loves the works of Tolkien and Rothfuss, Chinese food, and the Cinema.

Shiv Bhimasani

Shiv is a physiotherapist with over 18 years of clinical experience who has also gained a Post Graduate Certificate (MSc) in Sports Injury (Medicine) from the University of Sheffield.

His vast experience includes working in NHS and private hospitals in both the United Kingdom and overseas. Shiv gained his internship, in ergonomics, assessing for injury prevention on power terrain systems, assembly lines, and work-station assessments at Ford Motor Company and Thyssenkrrup UK.

Shiv has also worked at the international Sporting event Afro Asian Games 2003, covering tennis events, and providing On-field and Off-field Physiotherapy services to international tennis athletes. Shiv has broad-based work experience providing Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy services for patients who have suffered from both recent and longstanding injuries.

While Shiv was growing up he was involved in a car accident which resulted in him experiencing an extended period of back pain. His personal journey looking to more fully understand the best way to get both relief of pain and prevent it from returning has been pivotal in shaping and refining his physiotherapy treatment approach helping it to be more refined and effective.

He recognises that how we move and our own awareness of our posture when working, resting, and participating in sporting activities has a big impact on the strain we are applying to our bodies which then ultimately leads to injury and pain.

He is also a keen racquet sports player who enjoys playing squash, tennis and badminton.

Learning about life and living as well as the workings of the Mind, Body, Emotional and Energy systems has led to the knowledge that the human experience happens from the inside out and not from the outside-in.
