Acupuncture for Shoulder Dysfunction
The myofascial meridian meets the acupuncture meridian
This is a one day 6 ½ hour Acupuncture CPD update course. In the first session we will consider the anatomy of the shoulder complex paying particular attention to the myofascial meridians as described by Thomas Myers in his Anatomy Trains theory. We will take time to palpate the connective tissues and do some body work techniques in order to develop our ability to differentiate subtle changes within the connective tissues and identify the subtle nature of acupuncture points more easily.
In the second part of the course we will review the major acupuncture points and meridians relevant to the treatment of common shoulder disorders. We will particularly look at the Large & Small Intestine meridians in this regard.
This is a practically orientated course with a theory/practical mix of about 35/65.
This is the second course in a number of short courses that we are intending to run and although each course will stand alone it is envisioned that they can also be viewed as a series where each session to some extent builds on the last.
